The first “Weihnachtsmarkt” in Munich was born in 1642, but in the early 1300 a little Christmas market to celebrate S. Nicolao was already taking place.
Nowadays, walking through products and presents in Christmas markets is a traditional thing to do for all German people, while taking sips of vin brulé and beer, eating bratwurst, sugar-coated chestnuts and almonds.
If a couple is wondering by the market, it is almost impossible not to fall in love with a gingerbread heart to give to the partner. Christkindlmarkt in Marienplatz offers more than 180 stands, where people get amused listening to wonderful music, ice skiing or running down fake snow mountain on sleighs.
