Milan fashion week, one of the global “Big Four fashion weeks”, is where the newest styles are premiered for all the world to see. Held twice a year with an autumn and winter event in February and March and a spring and summer show in September and October the city becomes a epicenter of designers, models, and fashion fans.
Started in 1958 and operated by The National Chamber for Italian Fashion, the event has only grown in recent years to now include over forty locations and venues around the city. This huge event has shows from major fashion powerhouses such as Armani, Gucci, Etro, Max Mara, and Prada and also from the newest up and coming talent, giving anyone in the city a sneak peak of the hottest trends of the season.
While most of the catwalk and runways are located in the designers showrooms some of the most popular are held around the cities historic landmarks. While offering more room these outdoor shows bring the cities people and culture together to become part of the show. With Castello Sforzesco on your left and this season’s hottest designer on your right, Milan fashion week always satisfies.
