The lights of Milan Design Week shined on Henge: the Italian city that never sleeps has stopped to admire the new collection
The long-awaited Milan Design Week 2016 consecrated again Henge’s international success. The event shined a light on the new collection and the amazing research of rare materials, hand-crafted to create products so unique to be considered single masterpieces. From April 12 to 17 2016, Milan became the international core of the best brands and events for design lovers. The city hosted the latest edition of Milan Design Week, featuring Salone Internazionale del Mobile and Fuorisalone with their exclusive events and stunning shows.
The atmosphere of the Italian city that never sleeps was excited and rich in art and culture as usual during that period of the year, when worldwide architects, designers, brands and products are all together exposing their latest news and masterpieces to the public in the most luxurious, elegant and fancy way possible. After the amazing success of previous editions, Henge has been again one of the main protagonists of Milan Fashion Week in 2016. Put in the spotlight by the expectations grown within the public after its incredible spread around the world, Henge did not betrayed the feelings, establishing itself as one of the leading brands in worldwide interior design and adding significant new features to its biography. Salone del Mobile 2016 was a great showcase to amplify the work made by Henge during the last year: stretching its philosophy of extreme customization and research on rare materials to its ultimate limit, a limit that Henge aims to overcome again. Collection 2016 designed by Massimo Castagna impressed the thousands of people who came to Henge’s stand inside Salone del Mobile: a wide variety of brand-new elements for the interior and new finishings for its iconic products stole the hearts and the eyes of everyone who came across.
Henge presented the collection 2016 designed by Massimo Castagna, Artistic Director of the brand, at Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. A timeless collection able to emphasize the brand’s fine craftsmanship and to create a dialogue between functionality and passion.
The art direction was entirely leaded by the famous architect Massimo Castagna this year: –Collection 2016 was a challenge that I am proud to say we won with new elegance and style.– says the architect –Working again side by side with Paolo Tormena, CEO, gave me the chance to have an even deeper approach to our concept and to make our mood evolve into something new. Henge does not produce specially handcrafted pieces of high-level design, that would be a limiting definition: Henge produces interior projects that changes the whole mood and atmosphere of the space, bending the boundaries of what is considered to be possible or not.– That introduced the possibly biggest and most stunning point in the growth of Henge: the dedication to entirely handcrafted projects around the world has become in the last months a significant element in Henge’s way of creating.
With the new collection, Henge introduces many elements and materials starting with the precious Murano glass, the burnished 999 H-Silver®, the thick vintage effect E-Type leather and the exclusive Web Grey stone, along with two rare fossil woods, StoneOak® and StoneElm®, for a limited edition of 10 pieces.
New Master Projects, where every detail is uniquely produced by the hands of Henge’s craftsmen using the rarest materials, are increasing in number and majesty. Right in the heart of Milan, where fashion, culture, art and beauty of the Duomo mingle their streets, Henge created one of those projects in 2015: 7 Via della Spiga. Taking the name from its famous address, the location that raises at one of the streets of Milan’s Quadrilateral became a project entirely made and customized by Henge, featuring stunning elements of design and the masterpieces of Henge’s collections. On 2016, Henge decided to celebrate the Milan Design Week renewing completely the look of 7 Via della Spiga, from the burnished brass boiserie to the custom wine cellar and bar, created with the rarest materials and the most unique handcrafted techniques that Henge cherishes within its DNA. Three great events made 7 Via della Spiga shine even brighter during Milan Design Week, and the brilliance of the new collection 2016 brought inside famous guests and the best players in worldwide interior design and architecture field. Through sight and touch, the exclusive guests had the chance to understand the uniqueness of masterpieces at the very opposite of serial production: items that could never be replaced due to the peculiarities and shades of their rare materials and the ability to bend the space at your own desire of the masters that realize them. One of the most important piece of news regarding the materials used in creating the collection 2016 is the discovery of a treasure cherished by the earth, StoneElm®, used for a only 10 pieces limited edition of its Slim Side designed by Massimo Castagna, and the new stunning feature of Murano glass to make the magnificent Air Light, an incredible composition of lights and glasses handcrafted by the masters of Murano. Milan Design Week closed last April affirming Henge as one of the top brands in the world for its projects. This will certainly raise the expectations on the next edition: high expectations that will be highly exceeded by Henge.
