Maison Zen Beirut

World Wide Henge

Maison Zen, a furniture gallery located in Jounieh, Beirut, offers a select portfolio of renowned Italian interior design brands and represents an important reference point for interior design in Lebanon.
“What I like the most about interior architecture is the chance I am given in every project to create a comfort zone for my client that reflects my design identity without hiding theirs”, expresses Zeina Ammar. The interior architect earned a master’s degree in Interior Living and Design under the supervision of the great Patricia Urquiola, and, at only 28 years old, she opened the first Henge flagship store in Beirut: Maison Zen. The Lebanese capital, with its contemporary taste and international mix of cultures, becomes the perfect setting for a space dedicated entirely to the search for Henge beauty. Zeina Ammar directs this showcase of the best in Italian custom-made, highlighting Henge’s design skills while following her own personal style, attentively balancing her clients’ identity with her own.
When asked what her first moment was with Henge, she responds, “My first encounter with Henge was at the Salone del Mobile. I don’t want it to sound cliché, but it was love at first sight. The fact that Henge is different from all other brands is what intrigued me the most,” adding, “I was inspired by their never-ending quest to find the best and the most unique materials out there and the fact that each and every piece is handmade and can be customized according to the clients’ desires.” The setting of the store, indeed, reflects the contemporary, international, and high-level interior design projects by which Henge stands as a valuable partner. They provide furnishings, upholstery, lighting, accessories, and special products with a sophisticated level of customization for home decor, all made strictly by craftsmen, without compromises and far from mass production. On the ground floor is the dining area with the Stealth table, standing on a structure embellished by manually welded, laser-etched metal that forms a net-shaped alveolar arrangement with the Seqouia Brown top. Around the table are six new Extra chairs in rich red brick nubuck and two Is-A high chairs in brown nubuck. The Bistrot S, a sectional bookcase with joint modules and multifaceted vertical dividers, is the pure expression of the brand’s refined style. In the living area, the Pulse modular sofa, with a deep seat and extra large armrest, is the protagonist, recently enhanced with new modules and the new tobacco-colored Sense leather with the Simba mélange fabric cushion set.
Henge’s many lighting fixtures illuminate the living area, including the Tape Light, a modular LED lighting fixture made of dynamic burnished brass woven bands; the composition Light Ring Horizontal in hand-burnished brass; and the Wall Clips in polished brass and black burnished steel finishes. These and many other products that make up this breathtaking space follow Zeina Ammar’s design path and Henge’s ability to go beyond the limits of matter and workmanship. As a result, Maison Zen, located in Jounieh, has quickly become a focal point of Lebanese interior design, offering a careful selection of the most renowned Italian brands “The Maison Zen showroom reflects my desire to create the feeling of home for every client that enters,” says Zeina, “This is the feedback I get from each person who visits the showroom. They are seeing the difference there is in comparison to what already exists in the field, and, deep down, everyone knows that Henge is a brand that will last forever.”
