La Scala, abbreviated name for Teatro alla Scala, is the historical centre for Opera and Ballet of Milan.
Inaugurated on 1778 after the previous Teatro Regio Ducale had been destroyed by a fire, La Scala grew as one of the main artistic poles of Italy, where the most important singers and dancers from all around the world are called to express their talent and enchant the public.
The theatre underwent incredible innovations at the beginning of 22th century.
Largely criticized by preservationists before the end of the works, the restoration convinced everyone with its improvement to the structure of the opera house for quality of the sound and the beauty of the whole theatre.
